Youth empowerment and environmental sustainability

Reuse, Skills & Employment Programme

Turning reusable resources into skills, opportunity and employment

The Forsports Foundation Reuse, Skills & Employment Programme is designed to create practical learning and economic opportunities for young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

Through the recovery, refurbishment and responsible reuse of furniture and other resources, the programme provides opportunities for young people to gain hands-on experience, develop transferable skills and explore pathways into employment, vocational training and enterprise.

By connecting practical skills development with environmental responsibility, the programme demonstrates how materials that might otherwise be discarded can be given a new purpose while creating value for young people and communities.

Inclusive youth development

Who the programme supports

The programme primarily targets young people who are not in education, employment or training, providing opportunities to build confidence, develop practical capabilities and gain experience that can support their transition into work and productive economic activity.

It forms part of Forsports Foundation's wider commitment to inclusive youth development, working with both young women and young men and recognising the importance of accessible opportunities for all.

Progression and independence

Creating pathways beyond the programme

Our ambition is to develop a practical model that connects skills development with real opportunities. Through relevant partnerships, workplace exposure and access to vocational learning, we aim to help participants build the experience and confidence needed to progress into employment, further training or enterprise.

The programme also contributes to our wider environmental awareness work, promoting resource efficiency and responsible consumption within the communities we serve.
