Forsports Foundation Named Featured Beneficiary of HBO’s Last Week Tonight GlobalGiving Campaign

Forsports Foundation is honoured to announce its selection as one of ten featured organisations in Ghana included in a global fundraising campaign launched by HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver in partnership with GlobalGiving.

This recognition follows a rigorous review process led by the production and GlobalGiving teams, highlighting organisations demonstrating strong community impact, transparency, and proven commitment to youth and community development. We are proud that our work using football as a tool for education, health, leadership, and empowerment has been recognised at this level.

About the Campaign

The campaign is built around a unique fundraising initiative celebrating Ghana’s internationally recognised hand-painted movie poster art tradition, featured in the programme.

Through the official campaign platform, viewers are able to purchase an authorised archival print of the custom artwork at HangJohnOliver.com.

The proceeds are structured as follows: 50% supports Ghanaian artists through Deadly Prey Gallery in Chicago, while the remaining 50% is allocated to a GlobalGiving-managed Ghana Community Impact Fund.

Once the campaign window closes, the total charitable fund will be distributed as grant support across the ten selected Ghanaian organisations, including Forsports Foundation.

How the Funds Will Be Used

Funding received through this initiative will directly support our grassroots programmes across underserved communities in Ghana. These resources will help expand our Girls4Goals flagship programme, strengthen access to football and learning materials, improve community-level sports and training infrastructure, and support essential water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives that create safer environments for children and young people.

Our commitment remains focused on creating safe spaces where young people can learn, grow, and thrive through sport, education, and community development.

Acknowledgement

We extend our sincere appreciation to GlobalGiving, the production team of Last Week Tonight, Deadly Prey Gallery, and the global audience supporting this campaign. This opportunity reinforces the importance of investing in grassroots organisations working directly with young people to build stronger futures.
